Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/13/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position requiring cardiac telemetry expertise and a CT or compact RN license. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in a short-term acute care hospital on a cardiac stepdown unit - Patient population includes medical/surgical cardiac, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and vascular patients at both floor and stepdown levels - Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 for both day and night shifts - Competency in pre- and post-cardiac procedures, cardiac surgery, chest tubes, and pacer wires required - Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00 - Required to work every other weekend - No on-call requirement - Floating within scope to meet facility needs - Epic EMR is used - Responsible for providing care to cardiac and medical/surgical patients, including those requiring telemetry, chest tubes, and pacer management - First-time travelers are accepted for this position - Must complete required modules prior to start and annually, with RN modules requiring four hours - Facility will auto-approve up to seven days of requested time off; requests for more require approval - Return staff must not have worked at the facility within the last two years to be eligible - Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted - Adheres to Level I Trauma Center standards in a large academic setting /n /n Requirements/n - Active CT or compact RN license or eligible to obtain one prior to start - Minimum two years of recent cardiac stepdown experience required - Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS - Telemetry training required - Experience in Level I Trauma Center or large facility required - Flu vaccination required with no declinations accepted - COVID-19 vaccination and booster required unless exempt for medical or religious reasons /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-663571.
