Position Details:
Title: Building Automation Field Service Technician (Fire
Alarm)
Location: Remote, home-based in greater Boston area.
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.
Compensation: $30/hr.-$45/hr. starting base rate, depending on
skills & experience + O/T paid at 1.5X base rate for any work above
40 hours worked weekly + incentives/bonus structure for service
upgrades + company SUV & gas/tools/PPE/expenses/etc. for all
service work + cell phone & laptop. Travel time paid.

Travel: Daily travel from your home office to service clients. Will
work mostly in Boston with occasional work in CT or Manchester, NH.
Will service mostly hospitals, medical centers, and some government
facilities.
Position Description: The Field Service Technician responds to and
resolves service calls by providing technical support and
troubleshooting to company customers, including the technical
delivery of small service jobs, time and material work, and
preventive maintenance. These customers have various company
products installed such as HVAC, automation controls, life safety,
fire, security systems, and associated computer systems. The goal
is to ensure system up-time and efficiency. As the face of the
company to the customer you will interact with clients and provide
high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on-site
customer interfacing. This role requires a highly motivated,
skilled service technician who is a team-player, can think outside
the box, and thrives in an environment where creativeness,
imagination, and direct contribution to success are hallmarks. Key
responsibilities include:
--- Regular communication with clients - especially upon arrival
and before leaving the customer site.
--- Becoming familiar with customer operating problems and train
customer on control systems operation.
--- Keeping customer informed on service work & system
recommendations, upgrades, replacement, etc.
--- Provide field proposals for retrofits, upgrades, and
enhancements to existing equipment.
--- Manage assigned work to meet/exceed service time, requirements,
and customer satisfaction.
--- Interface with service business leader, supervisor, project
manager, and sales on projects, activities, etc.
--- Adhere to all company, customer, and industry safety
standards.
--- Complete, compile, and track job documentation, etc.
--- Verify system function performance to ensure proper operations
according to contract, including testing calibration, and
peripheral device operations per preventative maintenance
schedule.
Requirements: Must have some field service experience with some
fire alarm/protection support. Any experience working with other
building automation system sequence of operations, system graphics
and configuring, and mapping system points, experience working with
front end & station configuration, or computers networks and
switches is a plus, but not required. Excellent ability to
troubleshoot electronics systems. Demonstrated knowledge of fire
alarm/protection systems. Any familiarity with networking, computer
programs and software applications supporting building automation
is a plus, but not required. Excellent communication, interpersonal
skills, and customer service. Valid driver's license.
